Virginia J. Milita Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Virginia J. Milita, age 96 of Millville, died peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Born in Bellaire, Ohio, she moved to Millville with her family at age seven. After graduating from Millville High School in 1938, Virginia began a 30 year career in the management office of the former J.J. Newberry store in Millville. In 1968 she became the secretary to the district manager of Wawa Company in Millville, a position she filled for 23 years until retiring in 1990. One of eight children of the late Emmett and Mary Milita, Virginia is survived by two nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Minnie Gavigan, Violet Smith and Jennie Milita, all of Millville; and brothers, Emmett of Millville, Vincent of Tuckahoe, Eugene of South Vineland, and Thomas of Millville. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church of Millville. Virginia was an avid follower of professional football and baseball, and she enjoyed a wide diversity of activities with her many friends. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and many others whom helped with her inner strength, generosity, and sense of humor in the face of life's adversities. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April, 5, 2016 in St. Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church, Buck and Depot Streets, Millville. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Parish Of All Saints, 621 Dock Street, Millville, NJ 08332.
