Susan Carol Lowther

Susan Carol Lowther, age 69 of Millville, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 23, 2015, in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, NJ after a lengthy illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she grew up in Millville and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Millville High School, class of 1964. For ten years she was an educator and had worked for Gordon Phillips Beauty School in Collingswood. She had worked in many local salons and most recent for Contemporary Hair Designs for ten years and retired. She had also owned and operated Catalina Beauty Salon in Wildwood. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the First U. Methodist Church of Millville. She enjoyed antiques, reading, and caring for her pets. She loved spending time with her family and friends, going to church, and visiting Cape May. She is survived by her daughter Cassandra Probst and husband Joseph III of Millville; three sisters, Sandra Rathgeb and husband William of Goldsboro, N. C., Elizabeth Gentry of Millville, and Valerie Spoto and husband Dr. Joseph Spoto of Riverview, FL; her grandchildren, Erin Prohowich, Paige Prohowich, Noelle Probst, Jacob Probst; her stepmother Elizabeth Lowther of Lake Wales, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son John G. Prohowich, Jr. in 2007; and her parents, Clarence Blake Lowther and Gladys (Gentry). Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing on Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
