And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. Roy R. Schweitzer was a man of faith. Romans 8:28 began his day, his life and his world in 1949. It was what he lived by and shared it in his writing. I sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD all the earth. Sing unto the LORD bless his name. On Wednesday June 1, 2022 Roy had sung the anthem of the angels and had sung his last goodbye from Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Roy was born in Philadelphia and had spent many years in the Roxborough neighborhood before retiring to his family’s summer home, which his father hand-built, in Millville. Roy’s home had contributed to the manpower of our great nation upholding the ideals of our American freedoms in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He worked in maintenance and retired as a maintenance superintendent at Domino Lane Apartments before heading to Millville in 2002. He was a longtime congregant of the Victory Baptist Church in Springfield, PA where he served as Song Leader in the choir and had authored his own Christian book that is yet to be published. At home, he was intellectually stimulated and sharpened his mind with sudoku, jigsaw and word puzzles. True love is a soul's recognition of its counterpoint in another. To Donna (nee Evert), he was “my loving man.” He and his “sunshine wife” enjoyed 42 years of marriage. To the lovers, the dreamers and you… keep believing! Roy is the father of Eric and his wife Ericca and was predeceased by his son Brandyn. Roy is the proud grandfather of Gia Nicola, Eric M., Rosemary Elizabeth, Adriana, Jashlyn, Jahleil, Elliana, Brandyn, Jr. and Emily. Roy was part of a large family and is the brother of Edmund A., Marlene L. Fellmeth, Albert D., Raymond D., Lisa Matherly and was predeceased by his brother Kenneth J. Relatives, friends, neighbors and congregants are invited to gather with the Schweitzer family. We will come together in tribute and in thanksgiving on Saturday afternoon, June 11, 2022 between 2:30 and 3:30 pm at Christy Funeral Home 11 W. Broad St., Millville where we will celebrate life and faith in a remembrance ceremony at 3:30 pm. Heaven had lit a way for the fallen and Roy’s soul had risen like incense. The reuniting of those we love with nature will be held privately.
