Mary Ann Miller

May 28, 1918 - December 24, 2016

Mary Ann (Bidwell) Miller, age 98 of Millville, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, December 24, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born and raised in Jersey City to the late Irena and Steve Bidwell. She attended school in Jersey City and then moved to Millville in her teenage years. She worked at Freedman's Shoe Store in Millville, which is where she met her late husband, Lawrence, whom she shared over 50 years of marriage with. She then worked at Wheaton Glass Company in Millville as a decorator for over 35 years, and retired. Mary greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially when she was taking care of her granddaughter, Maryann, who was handicapped. She also loved to watch her grandson Bud’s soccer games at VHS and her great-grandchildren's (Alexis & Buddy’s) sporting events at MHS. She always looked forward to her Friday evenings with her daughter and Rich. She enjoyed working out in the yard, especially raking the leaves. She was very fond of her pets and also eagerly anticipated the annual Spring return of the purple martins to her yard. Mary will be sadly missed by her daughter Barbara Kennedy of Millville; grandson Buddy Jr. and wife Shannon and three great-grandchildren Alexis, Buddy III, and Cooper, all of Millville; and Barbara’s best friend Richard Wilson of Millville. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Joseph Miller; her first daughter Barbara Ann Miller; her son-in-law Clifton Kennedy, Sr.; all of her brothers and sisters; and one granddaughter Maryann Kennedy. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016, in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
