Lois Jean Swartz

February 7, 1940 - January 27, 2022

Lois Jean (Pangburn) Swartz, age 81 of Millville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, January 27, 2022. The youngest of four girls in an all-girl family, Lois was born on February 7, 1940 and raised in Millville to the late Charles and Bessie (Dixon) Pangburn, She attended Western, Culver, and Bacon Schools before graduating from Millville High School, Class of 1959. Lois met and married her loving husband Bill, who was from Hughesville, PA, on October 3, 1958 and they shared over 59 years of marriage together until his passing in 2018. Lois was a loving wife and devoted mother to her three children. She felt that the most important job in life was being a good wife and mother, and she was very proud of that, indeed. Once the children were grown in the 1980's, Lois attended the South Jersey School of Business, obtaining her real estate license. She worked for Banner Realty and then McCracken Real Estate for a total of over 20 years, retiring in 2007. Fishing on the boat, gardening, and going to the theater were a few of Lois' favorite pastimes. Most of all, she was especially fond of spending time with her family. Lois will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Colleen Thompson and husband Michael of the Woodlands, TX and Connie Swartz of Millville; her son Steven Swartz and wife Sandra of Millville; one sister Marion Adams and husband Robert of Millville; sister-in-law Carol Swartz; six grandchildren, Andrew Thompson, Cory Crawford and wife Jennifer, Heather Beasley and husband Nick, Sara Swartz, Isaac Swartz, and Lilly Swartz; four great-grandchildren, Cory "CJ" Crawford, Jr., Conner Crawford, Addison Beasley, and Carter Beasley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her loving husband William "Bill" Charles Swartz on January 3, 2018; two sisters, Violet Cossaboon and Carole Shukovsky; three brothers-in-law, Stanley Swartz, Sherron Cossaboon, and Nick Shukovsky. A Funeral Service for Lois will be conducted on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Family and friends will be received between 10 and 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
