Lois J. Grant Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lois Janet (Vanaman) Grant, age 70 of Millville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 21, 2021 after a sudden illness, at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Born in Bristol, PA to the late John and Lois (Miles) Vanaman, Lois was raised in Pennsylvania and then settled in Millville, where she attended Millville High School and was a longtime resident. Lois worked as a bus driver for nearly 50 years, starting with Dagastine's Bus Company in Port Norris. She then worked at Woodbine Development Center in Direct Care before moving into the Escort Department. She moved on to work at Wawa with her daughter Kimmie for a few years. Lois then worked for the C.A.T.S. Senior Transportation Service in Cumberland County for over 15 years and retired. She had currently been driving for Sparrow Transportation in Millville for the last two years, driving handicapped adults to Easter Seals. She always had a heart to help people and assisted in the NJ State Mentors Program for over ten years, helping to take care of the handicapped from her own home. Wherever she went, Lois loved meeting new people and making friends. She was a loving and generous person who enjoyed helping people, whether she knew them or not, and she took great pride in spoiling her family and her grandchildren. Lois loved serving the Lord, and she was a longtime member of New Life Church in Millville. She had currently been attending Calvary Chapel in Vineland. But wherever she worshipped, she was extremely active, helping wherever she could, from stuffing envelopes to starting ministries like the "Super Church" kids ministry, Missionettes for Girls, and Clown Ministry. Active in the Women's Ministry, Lois was a greeter, usher, and even drove the church bus. Lois loved traveling far and wide, up and down the East Coast with her husband Berman, whether it was to Lancaster for many special times and concerts, or trips to Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama to visit family and friends. She especially enjoyed traveling to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. She also loved to go dancing with her husband, Berman. Swimming, going to the boardwalk, playing games, making gingerbread houses with the kids, and baking were but a few of Lois' other favorite pastimes. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and also loved crafting, sewing, gardening and scrapbooking. Most of all, Lois loved her family with all of her heart, and treasured the time that she was able to share with them, especially with her grandchildren. Lois will be sadly missed by her husband Berman Grant of Millville, who she shared nearly 15 years of marriage; her four children, Vickie, Janet, Kimmie, and VJ; her four step-children, Jerl, Kimberly, Neva, and Sean; eleven grandchildren, Anthony, Clinton, Ramsey, Tamra, Corey, Mckenzie, Savannah, Nathaniel, Anna, Bentley, and Lydia; 21 step grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; and her brother Wesley John Vanaman. She was predeceased by her first husband Victor Kohanski in 2002; and her brother Raymond Vanaman. A Memorial Service for Lois will be conducted on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at noon in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street. Millville. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
