Lawrence H. Stang

Lawrence H. Stang, age 86 of Vineland passed away suddenly and peacefully Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Born in Camden to the late Harry L. and Antonina (Panarella) Stang, Lawrence grew up in Lenola and joined the U. S. Marines, serving during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. After the service, he married and raised his family in Pine Hill, and lived in Cumberland County for over 20 years. For about 40 years, he was a self employed Industrial Piping Designer and retired in 1993. He was a member of the Marine Corps. League and VFW. He enjoyed painting ceramics, spending time with his family, and he supported the casinos. Lawrence will be sadly missed by his children, Robert S. Stang of Millville, Thomas K. Stang and wife Felice of DE, and Patricia Messatzzia and husband Donald of Monroeville; one brother Paul Stang of Cherry Hill; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor I. (Pletscher) in 2009; and one daughter Deborah L. Thomas. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Friday, February 17, 2017 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell Twp. The family requests memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
