    Kathryn E. Bailey

    March 5, 1944 - February 27, 2016

    Kathryn "Kathy" E. Bailey, age 71 of Millville, passed away Saturday morning, February 27, 2016 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Born to the late Albert and Ella (Gallaher) Garrison, Kathy grew up in Millville, and graduated from Millville High School, class of 1962. She also graduated from Cumberland County College receiving her Associates Degree of Applied Sciences. For about 15 years, Kathy worked as a Lab Clerk for Shieldalloy Metallurgical Corp. in Newfield. She then worked for Southern New Jersey Council of Boy Scouts in Millville for eight years and retired. Kathy was a life member of the Girl Scouts of America. She was the first recipient of The Forever Green Award for her dedication and devotion to the Girl Scouts. South Jersey's local Girl Scouts community was named after Kathy...Whétonga. She was also a life long member of the Fourth United Methodist Church of Millville. She enjoyed playing the saxophone, traveling, music, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed playing softball, camping and working on her genealogy. Kathy will be sadly missed by her wife P.J. Paten; two sons, Kenneth E. Bailey Jr. and wife Patricia of Vineland, and Kevin E. Bailey of Rio Grande; one sister Lynn Banks and husband Earl of Newport Ritchie, FL; four grandchildren, Felicity and husband Jonathan Sr., Kaitlin, Kristin, and Karisa; two great grandchildren, Payton and Jonathan Jr.; many nieces and nephews; and her loving cat Jasper Bernard. She was predeceased by one sister Cora May Sparks; and one brother Richard Garrison Sr. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cumberland County Veteran's Cemetery in Hopewell Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Fourth United Methodist Church, 308 Kates Blvd., Millville, NJ 08332 or to the Whétonga Girl Scouts Community at www.gscsnj.org.
