    Kateryna "Katie" Seeney

    November 4, 1930 - September 22, 2019

Kateryna "Katie" (Rud) Seeney, age 88 of Estell Manor, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Inspira Medical Center,Vineland. Born and raised in Poltava, Ukraine to the late Michael and Maria (Dachenko) Rud, Katie and her family moved to the United States in 1950 to start a new life. She was a longtime resident of Estell Manor. Katie worked at Wheaton Plastics Company in Mays Landing during the 1970's, and then moved on to finish her career at Comar Plastics Manufacturing in Vineland, retiring in 1997 after 18 years of service. In 1994, Katie married the late Robert Seeney, and they enjoyed over eleven years of marriage together until he passed away in 2005. Katie was a past member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Millville, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years and was also a member of the Sisterhood. Katie was an avid knitter, knitting countless afghans, scarves, vests, and beautiful little butterflies. She would often give them as gifts to many friends and family members over the years. She also enjoyed many trips to the Atlantic City casinos, especially Showboat. But most of all, Katie truly cherished the time that she was able to share with her family. Katie will be sadly missed by her two sons, Michael Korsten and wife Olive of Arizona and Nicholas Korsten of Somers Point; two daughters, Victoria Nicholson and Husband Jay of Toronto, Ontario and Elizabeth Kline and husband Christopher of Estell Manor; one sister Valentina Nikitich and husband William of Florida; five grandchildren, Emily, Tara, and Bronwen Nicholson of Toronto, Ontario, and Alexander and Maximillian Kline of Estell Manor; two nephews, Andrew Nikitich and wife Sandra and Peter Nikitich. She was predeceased by one brother Nicholas Rud; and one niece Natalie Goode. A funeral home visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, October 1, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a Panachida beginning promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. A Graveside Service for Katie will be conducted on Wednesday morning, October 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery, 77 Hogbin Road, Millville.
