José M. Velazquez Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

José M. Velazquez, age 86 of Tampa, FL, passed away Saturday morning, April 2, 2022 at his residence, with his daughter by his side. José was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late José M. Velazquez and Juana (Segarra). For over 50 years, he lived in New York before moving to Tampa, where he enjoyed his retirement. For 30 years José worked for Marriott Foods in New York, catering to the J.F.K. Airport and retired. He was a member of the Brooklyn Holy Martyrs in Brooklyn, NY. He was active with the senior center in NY, where he enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, and being with his friends. José will be sadly missed by his children, José Velazquez of NY, Emma Velazquez of FL, Rose Chiavelli of NY, Francisco Vivas of Vineland, and Luis Cruz of Millville; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Rosa Maria (Rodriguez) Velazquez in 2016; five children, Ana Tirado, José M. Velazquez Jr., José Vivas, Eduardo Vivas, Ramon Vivas; and his siblings, Efrain Velazquez and Annie Velazquez. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Parish of All Saints, Buck and Depot Streets, Millville. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville.
