James S. Owens Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James S. Owens, age 78 of Millville, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland after a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late John T. and Mabel C. (Scott) Owens, he moved to Clayton at the age of five years old, graduated high school, and then served in the United States Navy. James began working at Prudential Life Insurance Company in Fairton as an agent, and retired in 1995 to become an independent broker. He owned and operated the Fairfield Insurance Agency in Fairton for 22 years. James loved spending time with his family and running errands for his wife, as well as reading books, and working in his yard. He also enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, and remodeling homes. James will be sadly missed by his wife of 28 years MaryAnn (Chontas); and his two sons, Robert W. McQuade Jr. and his wife Carol, and Craig Matthew McQuade, his wife Maria McQuade-DeJesus, and their daughter Arizbeth McQuade-DeJesus all of Millville. He is also survived by five daughters, Deborah Lynn, Charlotta, Kimberly, Karen and Allison; many grandchildren; and his special buddies, Nike his dog, and Jeffrey his cat. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
