    Harriet G. Nenstiel

    June 25, 1922 - December 31, 2015

    Harriet Nenstiel of Pompano Beach, FL, formerly of Philadelphia PA, passed away on December 31, 2015 at the age of 93. Born in Philadelphia, Harriet was the youngest of 6 children of the late Margaret and Harry Nenstiel. She was preceded in death by her brothers Gerald and George, and sisters Margaret Warren (husband George), and Florence Rehrer (husband Edward). She is survived by her sister Anna Nenstiel of Pompano Beach, FL.; her nephews John Warren (wife Rita) and George Warren (wife Pamela); 4 grand nieces, 1 grand nephew, 7 great grand nieces, and 3 great grand nephews. Harriet Nenstiel was born and raised in Philadelphia, while attending St. Phillip Neri Catholic Grammar School and West Catholic High School. She worked various jobs in Philadelphia along with being a USO Hostess during WWII. She moved to Miami in 1946 to live with her sister Anna. While in Miami she worked for Pan Am Airlines, as well as, The First Federal Savings and Loan Association. Harriet and Anna lived in the Miami area before moving to John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, FL, where the two resided until Harriet’s passing. Harriet loved to travel nationally and abroad. She was an avid reader and a great lover of music. A passionate Francophile, Harriet delighted in expressing her love of the language, history, and culture of France, especially her most cherished Paris. Harriet was deeply involved in the Catholic Church and her faith. She served on various committees and was a member of the Legion of Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 2 Hillcrest Ave., Millville. Family and friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday in the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
