Halie R. Hider Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Halie R. Hider Sr., age 88 of Maurice River Twp., Millville, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at his residence. He had been in declining health for the past two years. Born in Bridgeton, Mr. Hider grew up in Fairton, and had lived in Millville for over 50 years. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Mr. Hider worked as a mechanic for Airwork Corp. in Millville for 17 years and retired in 1989. He was an avid race car driver where he enjoyed racing his car at the Vineland Speedway. He was also an avid gardener with his son. He enjoyed animals and spending time with his family. Mr. Hider is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy (Cline); his daughter Vicki Hider and husband Ralph Wood; one son Halie Hider Jr., all of Maurice River Twp.; two grandchildren, Terry Hider and wife Valerie, and Nancy Walker and husband Gary; and two great grandchildren, Karli Hider and Alexis Hider. He was predeceased by his parents, Halie Hider and Hester (Phillips); and one brother LeRoy Hider. A memorial service will be private at the convenience of the family. The family requests memorial contributions to the Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N. Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
