Edward L. Smith

October 26, 1961 - February 8, 2022

Edward L. Smith, age 60 of Vineland, died suddenly on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at home. Born in Vineland, he was a 1981 graduate of St. Augustine's Prep in Richland and a 1989 graduate of Kean University in Union. He is survived by his mother, Carol Smith of Millville; his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and John Spahn of Boyds, Maryland; his niece Courtney Spahn; nephews, Christopher and Rory Spahn; and cousins, Susan Kilsby, Sally Saltzbart, and Brian Lejeck. He was predeceased by his father Marvin Smith. Edward had been employed at Desert Dan's nursery in Minotola, and he had a lifelong interest in plants and gardening, as well as trading in the stock market. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for the New York Mets, Jets, and Nets. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
