Doris Kears Kocielski

April 22, 1932 - March 5, 2022

Doris Kears (Sooy) Kocielski, age 89 of Millville, passed away Saturday morning, March 5, 2022 at Juniper Village in Williamstown. She had been in declining health for the past year. Born in Millville to the late Harry and Florence (Rose) Sooy, she graduated from Millville High School, and was a life long resident. Doris met her late husband Walter after he returned from serving his country, and they were married on February 23, 1952. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Millville. For a few years Doris worked at Mt. Pleasant School, caring and enjoying the children on the playground, but mostly she was a homemaker. She loved being a wife and mom, and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Wanda Kocielski Romer and her husband George Jr. of Millville; one grandson George Romer III and his wife Diana of Hallandale, FL; and one great granddaughter Victoria Romer of Hallandale, FL. She was predeceased by her husband Walter S. "Loggie" Kocielski on January 12, 2022; one brother Bill; and one sister Donna Simmerman. Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
