Christopher W. McCracken Sr.

December 18, 1960 - December 20, 2021

Christopher W. McCracken Sr., age 61 of Millville, passed away Monday evening, December 20, 2021 after an extended illness at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Chris was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was born in Somers Point, and raised in Millville. Chris worked at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland. He started there on March 2nd of 1996 and retired on August 31 of 2016. Chris loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and he enjoyed playing poker, but he will never ever be forgotten since Christmas was his favorite time of year. Chris will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years Ruth (Bates); his children, Holly Williams (Mike) and Jerri Freeman (Michael); his father Joseph McCracken Sr. and his step mother Judy; his son in law Paul Williams; five beautiful grandchildren that he loved dearly; and six brothers and sisters; Kathy Gable (Joe), Big Joe McCracken (Denise), Karen Sheppard (Fred); Lloyd McCracken (Karen); Little Joe McCracken (Cheryl); and Eve Kates (Frank). He is also loved by all of his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Audrey (Young) McCracken; and his two precious dogs, Meme and Thumper. A Celebration of Chris' life will be announced in the near future. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
