September 2, 1930 - January 4, 2018
Today, January 4, 2018 we mourn the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Bob Campbell. He was born in Yerkes, Kentucky in 1930 to the late Gordon Campbell (who passed away when Bob was 3 years old) and Flossie (Sparks) Campbell Stidham. Bob was raised by his mother and her loving husband George Stidham, and lived most of his life in South Jersey. Bob was an entrepreneur and knew the definition of hard work. He owned and operated two Sub Shops in Millville, New Jersey and a bar in Middletown, Ohio with his wife Bea Campbell. Together they entertained and touched many people’s lives. Bob enjoyed cooking and later in life cooked for the elderly in a nursing home. Bob always took pride in how he dressed, and always wore a pressed shirt and dress slacks. He loved the horses and shared this passion with his closest friends. He is best known for his great sense of humor where he enjoyed joking with family and friends. He was physically healthy his entire life and his favorite expression was “I eat to live…you all live to eat.” He always brought a smile to his family, keeping them in stitches enjoying his “gift of laughter.” He is preceded in life by his wife, Beatrice Campbell; his children, Linda Costello and husband Wayne of Vineland, Bob Campbell, Jr. and wife Pam of Ohio, Joyce Campbell Cobb and husband Ricky of Vineland, and Mark Campbell and wife Lisa of DE; his brother Ken Stidham and wife Cindy of Millville; sister in law Rheba Campbell of GA; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Bill Campbell. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to: Alzheimer's Association, Suite 310, 3 Eves Drive, Marlton, NJ 08053.
