Grief Library
Christy's Living with a Loss, Grief Library is a community resource that contains materials to help individuals who experience a loss. The books and videos in the library may be borrowed and used by other community agencies and counselors working with the bereaved.

The Grief Library is located in a family lounge which was incorporated into the Funeral Home in 1996. The new lounge, dedicated in the memory of Paul Jr., gives your family an opportunity to catch their breath, sit back, and regroup their emotions and thoughts before a service. This is especially important when family members have traveled a long distance to attend the funeral. Children, too, find comfort in the stuffed animals, books, and puzzles that they find in the lounge.

Library Additions
Several new books were added to the Christy Funeral Home Living with a Loss Grief Library during the past year. New titles included:

• "Thank you for Coming to Say Goodby," by Janice L. Roberts and Joy Hanson;
• "Yo Siempre te Querré," by Hans Welhelm;
• "I'll Always Love You," by Hans Welhelm;
• "Widow's Survival Guide," by Martin E. Levine;
• "Thriving after 55," by Henry C. Simmons, Ph.D. and E. Craig MacBean.

These titles are also listed with the local public libraries.

Brochures, pamphlets and handouts
Five brochures, pamphlets, and other handout materials are used on a regular basis, and include:

"What if...?" supplied by Inman Nationwide Shipping;

Trust Fund Highlights, What is Flex Trust, SSI/Medicaid and Prepaying a Funeral, Sure Trust Choices, and El Pago Anticipado Del Funeral, as supplied by New Jersey Funeral Director's Association;

A Preneed Form, A Young Survivor's First-aid Kit, Christy Funeral Home Remembers, The Process of Mourning and Bereavement Helpers, which are all Christy Funeral Home designed brochures.

Videos
Two new videotapes that were added during the past year were:

• "Successful Retirement," A Kiplinger Guide.
• "Investigative Reports, and The Business of Death," an A&E production.

The Christy Funeral Home meets compliance for OSHA, The American for Disabilities Act, Federal Trade Commission, and both the National and State Funeral Director's Associations. Christy Funeral Home has been a completely smoke free facility since February 1996.
